Department of Community Medicine
Introduction:
The Department of Community Medicine has state-of-the-art facilities for the training of undergraduate students. The department has been involved in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health programs and activities in the local community.
The academic year for Community Medicine begins in the IIIrd year & IVth year.
Goals of Community Medicine:
- Aware of the physical, social, psychological, economic, and environmental determinants of health and disease.
- Think epidemiologically, diagnose totally, treat comprehensively and be able to function as community and first contact physician.
- Able to apply the clinical skills to recognize and manage common health problems including their physical, emotional and social aspects at the individual, family and community levels and deal with public health emergencies.
